The Staff Selection Commission (SSC) is planning to introduce a major policy change in the Combined Graduate Level (CGL) Exam 2025 to increase transparency, flexibility, and the efficient utilisation of vacancies.
SSC has sent a proposal to the Central Government, and after approval, it will be implemented from the SSC CGL 2025 recruitment. The Sliding Scheme will significantly enhance candidate satisfaction while reducing unfilled posts in the final selection.
“Under this sliding scheme, we will make appointments from the waiting list for the first time to ensure recruitment to all the advertised posts of Group ‘B’ and Group ‘C’ in various Central Government ministries, departments, organisations and constitutional bodies, statutory bodies and tribunals”, says the SSC spokesperson.
He further added. “ Instead of calling it a ‘waiting list’, we have named it a ‘sliding scheme’. According to this new policy, if candidates selected from the main list fail to appear, those on the waiting list will be considered for selection.”
The idea of implementing the sliding scheme in SSC CGL 2025 is an effort by the SSC to fill all the advertised vacancies. The Commission found during the last few recruitments that some vacancies were not filled after the document verification process.
This scheme will be implemented in the post-allocation of a cycle to fill the vacant post from the extended cut-off after document verification.
Yes, the Staff Selection Commission will implement this scheme in the SSC CGL 2025 recruitment once approved by the Central Government.
Until now, the SSC CGL recruitment process has not included a waiting list. As per the sliding scheme, if the candidate who is in the final selection list does not appear for the appointment, the post will be filled by the next eligible candidate according to the cut-off, ensuring all the advertised positions are filled.
According to the Staff Selection Commission, this new scheme, if implemented, will benefit millions of candidates who narrowly missed the final cut-off. This initiative will be a great opportunity for many aspirants preparing for government jobs.
The SSC CGL 2025 Sliding Scheme marks a strategic step forward in the Central Government Recruitment Process. With its focus on merit, efficiency and fairness, this scheme reaffirms the commitment of the Staff Selection Commission to transparency.
The SSC CGL 2025 recruitment process will be conducted by the Commission for 14,582 positions. To grab these positions, the aspirants will appear for the SSC CGL 2025 exam.
Notably, two new positions have been included this time-
Office Superintendent, Central Board of Direct Taxes (CBDT)
Section Head, Directorate General of Foreign Trade (DGFT)
For the first time, direct recruitment through the SSC CGL exam will be done for these posts.
