The Combined Graduate Level (CGL) Tier I examination, which was initially scheduled to begin on 13th August, has been postponed following the directions of the Supreme Court.
The announcement was made by the SSC on 8th August. The new timetable for CGL and other upcoming exams will be posted on the official website of the commission shortly. The exam will now start in the first week of September 2025. “The exam is postponed to reform the computer-based testing process”, said the SSC spokesperson to a news channel.

This update affects 28 lakhs candidates. The SSC will release the revised schedule for the SSC CGL 2025 and all other subsequent exams soon on its official website. The spokesperson further added, “We have taken this decision amid the ongoing technical difficulties experienced during recent SSC examinations, including server crashes and system malfunctions that have compromised the Computer Based Test infrastructure”.
This notice will affect 28 lakhs registered candidates who had been preparing for this highly competitive examination for 14582 Group B and C posts in various departments of the Government of India.
The Staff Selection Commission will release the City intimation slip and admit cards 7-8 days before the new examination dates as per the official timeline.
