Artificial Intelligence is revolutionising every aspect, including evaluating the exam paper. In a significant step towards making government exams more secure and leak-proof, the Staff Selection Commission (SSC) has introduced an AI–powered content authoring tool developed by the technology service provider Cubastion Consulting during departmental competitive exams for the various central government posts.
The newly introduced AI system selects questions from a vast pre-approved question bank. The system ensures each exam paper is well-structured, unique and free from duplication or repetition.
The question paper is dynamically generated in real time just before the exam, thus saving valuable time and enhancing the quality and integrity of the examination process.
The first examination using this AI-powered technology was conducted by the SSC on June 15.
“We are proud to have enabled the first-ever examination conducted by the AI system”, says the SSC Chairman S Gopalakrishnan.
He further added, “This is a transformational moment not only for the SSC but also for the broader examination domain in India”.
The Cubastion CEO Ravi Kumar said, “This landmark step ensures exam security. For the first time in India, the exam paper is dynamically created in real time, ensuring flexibility and security”.
A landmark move in the SSC exams is setting a benchmark for many competitive exams in India. As per this significant change, the SSC exam papers are now released only 15 minutes before the start of the examination.
Until that moment, neither the user nor the officials have access to the SSC questions or have knowledge of which questions will appear in the examination.
The access is strictly controlled through digital verification, with the exam papers secured by advanced encryption and protected by digital signatures.
“Only using a correct digital signature, the papers can be decrypted, ensuring a high level of security”, says the SSC spokesperson. He further added, “This leak-proof AI System is designed around a zero-trust model, a leading cybersecurity framework that assumes that no user or system is inherently trusted”.
This means every attempt to access the exam paper goes through a strict verification, providing an added layer of security.
Deepanshu Sharma, the project head, Cubastion Consulting, said, “What was once a fragmented and manual process is now a unified, machine-driven ecosystem capable of scaling across the country. It is not just an upgrade; it is a future of secure examination delivery”.
He further added, “With digital authentication systems used in the part of the SSC exam workflow, it will pave the way for a full-scale digital transformation of the country’s examination system. This step sets a paradigm in making recruitment fairer, faster and fully secure”.
In future, the exams in India may have automated checking, biometric verification and digital marksheets.
This AI-based content authoring system is undoubtedly a significant step toward ensuring the integrity and efficiency of the recruitment exams. The cutting-edge transformation marks the dawn of a new era in India’s examination landscape.
