In a major policy change, the Staff Selection Commission (SSC) is planning to introduce a ‘Sliding Scheme’ in the Combined Graduate Level (CGL) Exam 2025.
“We have sent a proposal for the same to the Central Government, and after its approval, it will be implemented from this recruitment”, says the SSC spokesperson to one media channel.
He further added, “Under this policy, the SSC will make appointments from the waiting lists for the first time to ensure recruitment to all the advertised posts of Group B and Group C in various ministries, departments, organizations of the Central Government and various statutory and constitutional bodies, tribunals, etc.”
This Commission has named the list the ‘Sliding Scheme’ instead of referring to it as a waiting list. Under this new proposed scheme, those selected in the main list somehow fail to turn up; the candidates from the waiting list will be chosen.
“We came to know that from the last few recruitments, some vacancies remain vacant after document verification. This newly proposed scheme aims to fill all the advertised vacancies”, added the spokesperson, SSC.
The system will help fill the vacant posts using candidates from the extended cut-off list, after the verification of the documents.
This new change will be implemented once it gets approval from the Central Government. The Sliding Scheme proposed by the SSC for the first time is a waiting-list mechanism to ensure all the advertised vacancies are filled. In case the selected candidates do not join, the posts will be filled from an extended cut-off list after the Government’s approval.
