The SSC CGL Tier 2 2025-26 results were released on 8th April 2026, providing a clear picture to the candidates on their selection chances.

The result was released on ssc.gov.in. The candidates who appeared for the examination can now check their qualification status, merit position and next stage updates on this official website.

SSC CGL Tier 2 Result 2025-26 - A Major Turning Point

According to the official updates, SSC conducted the Tier 2 examination on January 18 and January 19, 2026.

A total of 15,118 candidates are shortlisted. The final merit list has now been released, recommending thousands of candidates for various posts, including Income Tax Inspector, Assistant Section Officer, Auditor,  and more.

What’s Next for the Qualified Candidates?

  • Document Verification Process: Qualified Candidates will be required to submit their original documents for verification of identity and qualification. The documents include -

    • Educational Certificates

    • Proof of Category (if applicable)

    • Identity Proof

    • Disability Certificate for PwD candidates

    • Photographs and application documents

The candidates are advised to keep all their documents ready to avoid last-minute complications.

  • Post Preference and Sliding Process: Candidates will interact with the new FRTA system, which includes the sliding process to confirm their preferred post. Through this system, the candidates may receive the upgraded post allocations based on merit, vacancies, and preferences. This step will help candidates secure better departments and secure job profiles.

  • Fix/Float Options: Candidates can choose the ‘Fix’ option to choose the currently allotted post. Otherwise, they can opt for the ‘Float’ option to try for a better post in subsequent rounds.

  • Skill Tests: Skill tests apply to candidates for specific posts, including Tax Assistants or Data Entry operators. They will need to pass the Data Entry Speed Test (DEST).

  • Final Merit List: After all the procedures are completed, the final merit list and the post-allotment list will be released.
